The Land of our Fathers

A Revival Journey Through Wales

We are so honored that you will be journeying with us to Wales in 2019. There are some incredibly fun new adventures to be had, new lifelong friends to be made, and there is a new expression of God’s heart to be experienced!

We will be honoring the stories of the Welsh revival and allowing the Holy Spirit to stir up a renewed vision for how He wants to move today.

Wales is a nation smaller than the state of New Jersey. In 1904, 70,000 men, women, and children were saved in the span of two months. The entire nation was transformed! There are many amazing stories that have come to light that tell of God’s wonderful works in days past in Wales. Many of the stories have become well known, many of the things that God did in that place and time have never been publicized. There are wells in Wales that have not been dug. There is an impartation that can only be received as you physically walk on the land, breathe in the air, sit on the old wooden chapel pews, and hear the untold stories.

Come with us and experience the wonder of Wales and see firsthand the places where God moved so mightily. We are inviting you to come along and help us tell the stories of the mighty acts that God performed in that wonderful land.

So we are looking for travelers, storytellers, worshipers and people who simply carry revival in their hearts to go with us.

We are going to Wales to bless and be blessed. We are going to be transformed and awakened. We are going to capture some of the spiritual treasures that are there so that we can share them with others. The charming culture, the rich history, the unique and inexpressible beauty of the landscape, the lingering presence of past Holy Spirit movements, and the tangible stirring of His present activity are all going to be experienced as we journey through this ancient land of Wales. Please join us as we go on this life changing passage together!

September 1 our journeys begin as we each depart the US to meet up tomorrow morning at the Manchester, England airport.

September 2 begins when we all meet at the Manchester Airport. Watch for all the happy faces that arrive well rested and ready for the adventures that await them. We will board the comfort of our awaiting coach and travel a short distance to our hotel. We will all use this day before the tour really begins to recover from jet lag, sleep in and begin breathing the Welsh air. This will be a day for leisurely strolls. We will be staying in Beau Maris on the isle of Anglesy.

After a lovely Welsh breakfast, we journey through the beautiful Conwy Valley to the quaint village of Betws-y-Coed ("Prayer house in the wood”). Betws-y-Coed lies in the Snowdonia National Park, in a valley near the point where the River Conwy is joined by the River Llugwy and the River Lledr. It was founded around a monastery in the late sixth century. After lunch we will make our way to Llangefni on the Isle of Anglesey. We will gather in a chapel of Christmas Evans. Dinner and dreams in Caernarfon.

We will begin our day with breakfast followed by a short walk through the narrow streets of Caernarfon. There are numerous options available this morning. Caernarfon has many wonderful little shops, cafes, bookstores, museums, boat rides, etc. Mighty Caernarfon is possibly the most famous of Wales' castles. Its sheer scale and commanding presence easily sets it apart from the rest. Begun in 1283 as the definitive chapter in his conquest of Wales, Caernarfon was constructed by Edward I, not only as a military stronghold but also as a seat of government and royal palace. After lunch we will head out to the beautiful seaside town of Aberystwyth to check in to our hotel. Exploring, dinner and dreams in Aberystwyth.

Breakfast is at the lovely seaside hotel. Enjoy, if you wish, a leisurely stroll on the promenade. Be sure to pick up your sack lunch before boarding the bus to Blaenenannerch Chapel for a time of worship and lunch on site. After the lunch at the Chapel we are going on a Seal and Dolphin watching boat trip. We travel on through the beauty of West Wales to the lovely coastal town of Milford Haven to a wonderful home cooked meal, complete with Welsh dishes, Welsh desserts, and Welsh hospitality followed by a church service. We dream tonight in nearby Haverford West.

We will be touring the Castle ruins in Pembroke, then we are off to the most westerly village in Wales. The village of St. David's was granted city status by Queen Elizabeth II in 1995. It is the smallest Cathedral City in all of Britain. After visiting the amazing St. David's Cathedral we will take a short drive to the mysterious and beautiful moorland and mountains of the Preseli Hills. The views from here can stretch as far Snowdonia in the north and as far as the Wicklow Mountains of Ireland. The prophetic significance of this wondrous place is profound. Be sure and take notes. Dinner is in a small pub in the middle of nowhere. Wonderful food in a wonderful place.

Day 5 finds us at Moriah Chapel with the unfolding of the story of the Welsh Revival of 1904. This day will be a day of retracing the footsteps of some of the most spiritually significant people in Welsh history: Evan Roberts, Joseph Jenkins, Florrie Evans, Rees Howell and more. Next we visit Rees Howell's School. We dine and dream in Neath tonight.

We will spend the day in Neath, founded in 120 A.D. This small town by the river still has monuments of history that span the ages all the way back to the days of Roman occupation.

From 12th century Neath Abbey to a 13th century Tudor mansion. Their first fair was held in 1280 and is still held every year. Actors Richard Burton and Sir Anthony Hopkins, and singers Bonnie Tyler and world renown soprano, Katherine Jenkins, call Neath Valley home. Neath was also the home of Seth and Frank Joshua. These brothers were two of the most important figures in Welsh revival history. We will be worshiping in their church today.

We will have the unique opportunity to step back in time and experience what life would have been like when "coal was king" in Wales. This is a wonderful way of connecting with the real Wales of yesteryear. It's incredibly informative and enlightening in regards to the days of revival and it gives us a great appreciation for the wonderful things that God did in the lives of those that found light in such dark places in dark times. Big Pit is a real coal mine and one of Britain's leading mining museums. Then off to Cardiff we go, to experience the Capitol of Wales. This will be an opportunity to find some gifts and souvenirs for those expectant loved ones back home.

We will be going to St Cians at Bridgend for a special time of prayer and worship.

It is a perfect way to spend our last morning in Wales celebrating the goodness and the power of the Lord in Wales and praying on behalf of Wales’ future. It's also a wonderful way to fellowship as we enjoy one another's company in this picturesque place.

The afternoon will take us through the beautiful landscapes of East Wales and Western England. We will have a restful drive to Manchester, England and have dinner in our hotel. We will have a short time of farewells over dessert. Last night of dreams before the early flights.

DAY 10

We go back to our homes forever changed.
